We were so grateful to Adam Sewell from Bay Area Horse Archers, who taught a Horsemanship 4 Kids clinic to Tassajara Valley Pony Club members on how to build a healthy, respectful partnership with horses. The clinic included an engaging presentation, hands-on observation of the horses around the barn, and a live demonstration, showing the kids how to recognize and help an anxious horse. One lesson especially resonated with everyone: horses don't have the ability to be "bad" or "naughty." Adam helped our members understand that horses are simply responding to their instincts, environment, and past experiences. That shift in perspective is one of the greatest gifts we can give young equestrians. It teaches them to approach every horse with empathy, patience, and curiosity instead of frustration. We are so grateful to Adam for sharing his knowledge and passion with our Pony Club members. We know these lessons will stay with them for years to come!

This Horse Archery Clinic was really fun! Adam is thorough and engaging. The course worked its way from the history behind horse archery to bow and arrow skills to careful introduction techniques for the horse and finally riding and shooting. Adam is careful to put the horse first. No one progressed unless completely ready. A word of caution: be fair and prepare your horse for this fun event. There is nothing more unfair than a scared horse. Thanks Adam!

I can’t recommend Adam and Bay Area Horse Archers enough! We just had the opportunity to host a clinic with Adam, and it was genuinely one of the most fun clinics I’ve ever participated in. Adam is an absolute wealth of knowledge, but what really stood out was how generous he was with his time and attention. The amount of time he gave to each of us went above and beyond, making sure everyone had the opportunity to learn, ask questions, work through things with their horses, and really understand what we were doing. He made the entire experience fun, approachable, and incredibly educational. Whether you’re already interested in horseback archery or just looking for something new and exciting to do with your horse, I highly recommend taking a clinic with Adam and checking out Bay Area Horse Archers. We had an absolute blast and are already looking forward to doing it again! -Genae Kindscher Horsemanship at Morning Sun Ranch.

Such great patient instructors! They let you progress at your own pace and always make sure the horse and rider are working safely. Such a great experience to be a part of!
